The nest thermostat platform let you control a thermostat from Nest. It also includes the ability to monitor things like the state of our HVAC system and the current humidity and temperature.

To set it up, add the following information to your configuration.yaml file:

  monitored_conditions:
    - 'fan'
    - 'hvac_ac_state',
    - 'hvac_aux_heater_state',
    - 'hvac_heat_x2_state',
    - 'hvac_heat_x3_state',
    - 'hvac_alt_heat_state',

    - 'hvac_emer_heat_state',
    - 'online'
    - 'temperature',
    - 'target',
    - 'away_temperature[0]',
    - 'away_temperature[1]'
    - 'humidity',
    - 'mode',

    - 'local_ip',
    - 'last_connection',
    - 'battery_level'

You must have the Nest Thermostat entity configured to use this sensor.
